Commercial electrical work runs on a different timeline than residential. When a tenant fit-up needs to be wired before a lease start date, or a restaurant needs its kitchen circuits relocated during a renovation, downtime costs money. The work has to be done right, but it also has to be done on schedule.
Sparxx Electrical handles commercial electrical projects across Winnipeg β new construction, renovations, lighting retrofits, power distribution, data cabling, and security systems. We work with property managers, general contractors, business owners, and developers who need a licensed electrician they can count on to show up, do the work, and not hold up the rest of the project.
Commercial projects range widely, but most of our work falls into a few categories. New construction wiring β rough-in and finish electrical for new commercial buildings, including power distribution, lighting layouts, and panel installations. Renovation and retrofit work β updating existing commercial spaces for new tenants, new uses, or code compliance.
Lighting is a major category on its own. Many Winnipeg commercial buildings still run outdated fluorescent fixtures that consume more power than modern LEDs and provide worse light quality. We handle full lighting retrofits β replacing fixtures, updating wiring, and working with building management to minimize disruption.
We also install structured cabling for offices, security cameras and access control systems for commercial properties, and EV charger stations for commercial parking areas.
We understand that commercial projects involve coordination with other trades, tight timelines, and occupied buildings. We show up when we say we will, communicate proactively when scope changes, and keep our work area clean and accessible to other trades working alongside us.
For projects requiring after-hours work β retail spaces, restaurants, offices that can’t shut down during the day β we schedule accordingly. The work gets done without affecting your business operations.
Sparxx Electrical has handled commercial electrical work since 2019, from small retail spaces to larger commercial builds. Elton is a Red Seal journeyman electrician with a Contractors licence and the experience to manage projects that need to stay on schedule.
Yes. We regularly schedule commercial work for evenings and weekends to avoid disrupting business operations. This is common for retail, restaurants, and office spaces where daytime shutdowns aren’t practical.
Yes. Tenant fit-ups are one of our most common commercial project types. We work with general contractors and property managers to wire new layouts according to the incoming tenant’s needs β outlets, lighting, data, and dedicated circuits for equipment.
Absolutely. Many older Winnipeg commercial buildings have outdated panels, insufficient power distribution, and wiring that doesn’t meet current code. We assess what’s there, identify what needs upgrading, and handle the work in phases if needed to keep the building operational during the project.
We don’t currently offer formal maintenance contracts, but we do take ongoing service calls from commercial clients and prioritize repeat customers. If something goes wrong in a building we’ve wired, we can troubleshoot it faster because we already know the system.
If you’ve got a commercial electrical project coming up β new build, renovation, or retrofit β reach out and we’ll scope it with you.
