Electrician in Headingley, MB | Panels, Generators

Headingley left Winnipeg in 1992 and is now its own Rural Municipality, which changes who issues your electrical permit. It had been part of the city since 1972. If you need an electrician in Headingley, Sparxx Electrical Contractors is based in Winnipeg and takes the job.

Permits in Headingley come from Manitoba Hydro

Inside Winnipeg the City issues electrical permits. In the RM of Headingley, Manitoba Hydro does. When a job needs a permit, we take care of it and the inspection that follows. On a panel or service upgrade, we also arrange the Manitoba Hydro disconnect and reconnect.

A fast-growing municipality

The 2021 census counted 4,331 people, up 21% from 3,579 in 2016. In 1996 the count was 1,587, and it has grown at every census since. The RM’s communities are Diamond, Murray Park and West Winnipeg, with the community of Headingley along Provincial Road 334 and the Trans-Canada Highway.

A municipality that has grown from 1,587 people in 1996 to 4,331 in 2021 has houses of very different ages. We start any job by checking the panel and the wiring that is there, then explain what it needs.

What we take on

For homes, the usual jobs are panel upgrades, lighting, service calls, EV charger installation and generator installation. Before adding a big load, we check whether the existing panel and service can carry it.

Public buildings such as Phoenix School and the Headingley Water Treatment Plant sit in the RM, and we take commercial electrical work as well as house calls.

We are open every day from 7 AM to 8 PM, and owner Elton is a Red Seal journeyman. Call with the address and a few lines on the job.

If you are planning a generator or an EV charger in Headingley, tell us about your panel when you call, and we will say what the job involves before it goes ahead.
